Credits, billing and renewals

Add credits, understand how servers renew each month, and avoid suspensions with auto-renew.

Updated

On this page

BitQate is prepaid. You add credits to a balance, and each server, VPS or website draws its monthly price from that balance when it's deployed and each time it renews. Prices are in USD, and there are no contracts.

Add credits

  1. Go to Billing and click Add Credits.
  2. Choose an Amount, or enter a custom one.
  3. Pick a Payment Method:
    • Card: Visa, Mastercard or Amex, processed by Polar in a new tab.
    • Crypto, where offered: USDC or USDT on Solana, through Yolfi. Send the exact amount shown before the payment window closes.
  4. Finish the payment in the new tab.

Your balance updates once the payment is confirmed. If it hasn't changed after a few minutes, refresh the page.

Make this recurring monthly charges the same amount every month instead of once, which is a simple way to keep long-running servers funded. Recurring top-ups and monthly credit plans appear on the Subscriptions tab, where you can cancel them; they stay active until the end of the current period.

Credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

Workspace balances

A workspace has its own balance. Select the workspace in the sidebar before opening Billing to top it up. Servers deployed in a workspace are billed to the workspace, not to you. See Share servers with a workspace.

How renewals work

Each service runs for one month at a time.

  • About a day before it expires, you get a reminder by email and in the dashboard.
  • When it expires with auto-renew on, the next month is charged to your balance automatically.
  • When it expires with auto-renew off, or your balance is too low, it's suspended: it stops, but your data is kept for now.
ServiceAfter suspension
Containers, databases and gamesPermanently deleted after 3 days, together with their backups, unless you renew before then
VPSStays suspended until you add funds and renew, or turn on auto-renew. Its IP addresses stay assigned

Running anything important? Turn on auto-renew and keep enough balance for at least one more month. A recurring monthly top-up does this for you.

Turn auto-renew on or off

Go to Billing → Overview. Under Your Servers, each one shows Auto-renew: ON or Auto-renew: OFF; click it to switch. For a VPS you can also change it under the VPS's Settings tab.

To pay for another month right away, click Renew next to the server. One month's price is charged and its expiry moves forward by a month.

Insufficient balance

If your balance doesn't cover a deployment, an upgrade or a renewal, nothing is charged and you'll see Insufficient balance. Click Top up balance, add credits, and try again.

Deleting a server

Deleting a container server refunds the unused part of the current month to your balance. A server that's already suspended gets no refund. Deleting a server also deletes its backups, so download anything you need first.

Invoices and history

Billing → Transactions lists every top-up, charge and refund. Click Invoice on a row to download its invoice.

Billing → Overview shows your current monthly cost and a Cost Projection for the next 7 days, 30 days or 3 months, based on your current servers.
