Acceptable Use Policy

These guidelines define responsible use of BitQate’s infrastructure. They apply to all services including web hosting, game Servers, and any additional features.

1. Purpose

This policy ensures optimal service quality for all BitQate customers. We aim to provide reliable, high-performance hosting while preventing abuse of our shared systems. By using any BitQate service you agree to these guidelines.

2. Resource Usage

CPU
Your allocated cores are a hard limit enforced by the underlying container runtime, so you cannot exceed what you’ve allocated. If your workload consistently needs more, allocate additional cores.
RAM
Your allocation is a hard limit enforced by the underlying container runtime, with no burst capacity beyond it. If your workload consistently needs more, allocate additional RAM.
Storage
Storage quotas must be respected. Temporary files should be cleaned up regularly to avoid unnecessary usage.

3. Network Usage

Bandwidth
Unlimited bandwidth is subject to fair use. Excessive usage that degrades service for other users is not permitted. Using a third-party CDN for static assets is recommended for high-traffic sites.
IPv4
Each server is allocated the IPv4 addresses you provision for it. Using allocated addresses to run proxy, VPN, or Tor exit node services is not permitted (see Section 4).

4. Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited on BitQate infrastructure:

  • Cryptocurrency mining or any resource-intensive proof-of-work activity.
  • AI image generation workloads (e.g. Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Automatic1111). GPU-accelerated servers are not available; CPU-only nodes cannot support these workloads efficiently.
  • Torrenting or other illegal file-sharing (warez, pirated media, etc.).
  • Operating proxy, VPN, or Tor exit nodes.
  • Email spam or bulk unsolicited messaging operations.
  • Hosting or distributing malware, botnets, or hacking tools.
  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Any activity that disrupts or degrades service for other users.
  • DDoS attacks, port scanning, or network abuse directed at any host.

5. Game Server Specific

For game Servers, you are responsible for maintaining reasonable player slot counts relative to your allocated resources. Servers should be kept updated to recommended versions, and modpack selections should be optimised for the resources you have purchased. Excessive plugin or mod stacking that causes consistent resource overload is not permitted.

6. Monitoring & Enforcement

Resource usage is continuously monitored and performance metrics are retained for investigation.

Enforcement actions are applied progressively:

  • Warning issued for a first or minor violation.
  • Service suspension for repeated or persistent non-compliance.

We will always attempt to contact you before taking action unless the violation is severe or illegal (see Section 7).

7. Severe & Illegal Violations

The following violations result in immediate account suspension or termination without prior warning, and may be reported to law enforcement:

  • Hosting or distributing illegal content of any kind.
  • Child sexual abuse material or content that exploits minors.
  • Content promoting terrorism, violence, or serious organised crime.
  • Large-scale copyright infringement.
  • Fraudulent activity, identity theft, or financial scams.
  • Severe security breaches or unauthorised access to third-party systems.

8. Support & Resolution

If you are experiencing resource constraints or are unsure whether a use case is permitted:

  • Review your application's resource usage and implement recommended optimisations.
  • Contact support for guidance before exceeding limits.
  • Allocate additional RAM, CPU, or storage for sustained higher workloads.

We are committed to helping you achieve optimal performance within these guidelines.

9. Reporting Violations

If you observe a violation of this policy, whether on your own account or by another user, please report it immediately:

  • General support: support@bitqate.com
  • Support portal: portal.bitqate.com/tickets
